Public funding first

Most marine restoration in Europe is funded by public programmes such as LIFE, the maritime and fisheries fund and research programmes, often co-financed by national or regional budgets.

Private and blended finance

Companies with coastal activities, insurers and carbon markets show growing interest. Blended finance combines public and private money so that each reduces the other's risk.
