Mapping marine habitats of the European seas — a complete test case

End-to-end test Resource: thumbnail + full picture, rich body, tags on every taxonomy, three downloadable files (PDF/CSV/MD), two external links and multiple contacts. Safe to delete.

We assessed marine benthic habitats across European seas combining airborne multispectral imagery, AUV transects and towed-camera surveys. Substrate coverage was estimated for 312 stations; classification followed the EUNIS scheme. Results indicate measurable decline in Posidonia meadows and an expansion of coralligenous bioconstructions in two sub-basins. We discuss implications for Nature Restoration Law baselines and propose a reproducible monitoring protocol.
