LIFE MAPPER has successfully completed MS3, a Europe-wide expert consultation supporting the development of a harmonised framework for assessing the ecological condition of marine habitats.
Through a dedicated survey, many experts from 13 European countries shared their knowledge on habitat condition assessment, ecological indicators, reference conditions and restoration practices. The consultation provides valuable insights into current methodological approaches, identifies existing knowledge gaps and highlights key challenges for implementing the EU Nature Restoration Regulation.
The results of this milestone will support the next phases of LIFE MAPPER by strengthening the scientific basis for marine habitat assessment and restoration planning across Europe.
